This ham and cheese pinwheels recipe is perfect for busy parents looking for easy dinner ideas! With the school year in full swing, my evenings are packed with soccer practices and other after school activities. This makes putting on a decent meal for the family even more difficult than usual! So, having a list of easy dinner ideas in my playbook is the best way to make it all work.
These ham and cheese pinwheels are a great alternative to the plain, old sandwich. What’s more, you have the option to throw in some chopped spinach for an extra boost of nutrition. Additionally, you can switch out the ham for a wonderful turkey and swiss combo. However you slice it, this is a great go-to meal option when you and your family are in a hurry!
Here are the simple ingredients:
- Crescent roll dough
- 9 oz Honey Ham
- 1 ½ cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 2 TBSP Dijon mustard
- 1 TBSP honey
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 TBSP dried parsley (for garnish)
- fresh spinach, chopped
First you'll want to preheat your oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Next, in a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
After that, roll out the crescent roll dough onto the parchment paper, and pinch together the seams to create one full sheet. Next, use a silicone spatula to spread the mustard mixture onto the dough.
Then, sprinkle on half the cheese, top it with ham slices, and then add the remaining cheese on top.
Next, tightly roll the dough from the long side, and place the seam side down.
Once that’s done, cut it into 1-inch slices, and place them on the parchment-lined cookie sheet.
Next, bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Lastly, top it off with parsley and serve. Alternatively, you can freeze them for up to 1 month in an airtight container.
