Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ cup pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 cup cashews salted
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder or cacao powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup melting chocolate
  • Candy eyes
  • 6 Oreo cookies

Instructions

  • Add first five ingredients to a food processor and blend until a coarse meal forms. The mixture will look crumbly, but should hold together when pinched.

  • Roll into 1-inch balls. Melt melting chocolate in a microwave according to package instructions. Dip the tip of a paper straw into the chocolate, then push into a date ball. Freeze for 15 minutes.

  • Dip date balls into chocolate and tap off excess. While the chocolate is still wet, add candy eyes.
  • While the chocolate is drying, untwist the Oreo cookies and remove the creamy filling. Use a sharp knife to cut each side in half. To create a more intricate wing, use a mini star cookie cutter to cut out two triangles. Attach wings using a dab of melting chocolate
